How to Make a Photo Widget

Making photo widgets is an easy way to advertise your blog.

1 Go to your WordPress or Blogger Dashboard. See Figures 1 and 2.

4 Type: <center><a href=” in the Widget/Gadget. You can change the <center> to <left> or <right>. See Figures 7.

Figure 7:

<center><a href=”

5 Open a new tab in your web browser, and go to the site you want the photo to be linked to.

6 Copy the Site Address to the site you want the photo to be linked to (Red Arrow). See Figure 8.

Step #6

7 Paste the Site Address right after <a href=” , and add a Quotation after the Site Address. See Figures 9.

Figure 9:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/”

8 Now add Target=”_blank”> to the text, this is for when people click the photo a new tab will open and go to the site, this is so people don’t lose your blog. See Figure 10.

Figure 10:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/” Target=”_blank”>

9 Now add <IMG style=”WIDTH: 75px; HEIGHT: 100px” height=100 src= to your text. See Figure 11.

Figure 11:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/” Target=”_blank”><IMG style=”WIDTH: 75px; HEIGHT: 100px” height=100src=

10 Now is when the photo comes in. Right click on the Photo you want to use, and then Copy the Image Location (Red Arrow). See Figure 12.

I would recommend using Flickr® for your photos, because Flickr® is free and easy to use.

Figure 12

Step #10

11 Paste the image location at the end of the TEXT. See Figure 13.

Figure 13:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/” Target=”_blank”><IMG style=”WIDTH: 75px; HEIGHT: 100px” height=100src=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2571/3951738888_09f3ecd83c.jpg

12 Now Paste width=75 border=0> at the end of the TEXT. See Figure 14.

Figure 14:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/” Target=”_blank”><IMG style=”WIDTH: 75px; HEIGHT: 100px” height=100src=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2571/3951738888_09f3ecd83c.jpg width=75 border=0>

13 Now add <a/></center> to the end of the TEXT. See Figure 15.

Figure 15:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/” Target=”_blank”><IMG style=”WIDTH: 75px; HEIGHT: 100px” height=100src=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2571/3951738888_09f3ecd83c.jpg width=75 border=0><a/></center>

14 Now to finish the Widget/Gadget, you just have to change the size to the size  you want.

In the figure below there is RED, GREEN and ORANGE text, the RED text is what you will need to change to change the size of the photo. The GREEN text is the addresses I wanted my photo to be linked to, you can change it to whatever website you want your photo to be linked to. The ORANGE text is the location of my photo, you can change that to wherever your photo is located. See Figure 16.

Figure 16:

<center><a href=”http://www.gimp.org/” Target=”_blank”><IMG style=”WIDTH: 75px; HEIGHT: 100px” height=100src=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2571/3951738888_09f3ecd83c.jpg width=75 border=0><a/></center>
